Artist's Description
Corolla wild horse herd filly, "Monkey", on a walkabout.
The day my friend and I went to Corova, NC on the Outer Banks, the wild horses were a bit elusive. When we finally located this small herd, we met "Monkey". I was told that Monkey's name was a nod to Monkey Island, but I'll always call this sweet creature "Curious George". I was standing on the dirt road photographing one of the mares off in the bushes when I turned to find Monkey practically in my back pocket! For fear of scaring the filly, I resisted the temptation to pull out my cellphone for a selfie and just enjoyed the moment.
